Tips
It's always about the presentation. Whether a trick is entertianing to a crowd depends on how it was presented. A touch of humour usually works.
:: Controlling a card ::

Magicians controls the position of the card right in front of the audience without them even noticing! It is one of the most useful skills that one could ever learn. With this, one can even make up his/ her own tricks, just by varying the way of presentation.

Just with a quick flip, the desired card pops right up to the top of the deck! I love to use card control as part of my routine alot, due to it's flexibility, and it never fails to impress a crowd. It's as good as a fail-proof, mind-blowing trick! It can be used as a form of fake shuffle, or even a force as well, if coordinated in the correct manner.

However, learning how to control is not as simple as the previous sleights. This will involve a higher level of patience and practise, and must be smooth/ casual when using it. Basically, what will be featured are 2 of the most common card controls; the Passes and the Cuts.

Passes are useful when the Magician doesn't want the audience to see that he is actually doing something with the deck of cards. While Cuts are when Magicians deliberately wants the audience to see him 'messing-up' the cards, but in fact he's not, or in other words, creating an impression that the cards has been messed up, but actually still in it's initial arrangement.
