Tips
It is better to be able to find a 'buddy' who's interested in magic. This way, both are able to gain from each other.
:: Top Pass ::
  • Effects: The chosen card is pass to the top of the deck after it has been placed into the middle of the deck.
  • Level of Difficulty: Hard
  • Level of Amazement: "Huh? What did u just do??"
  • Preperations: NIL
  • Points to Note: Although this sleight should be done within a faction of a second, smoothness is still the top priority.

Instructions:
Allow the card to be placed freely in the middle of the deck. (Note: For the purpose of this demostration, the chosen card, 2 of Hearts, will be shown face up.)
toppass4
Upon closing the deck, placed the left hand pinky in between the top (b) and bottom (a) packet.
toppass5
Square up the deck, with the pinky still positiioned in between the packets. Hold the deck in a 45 degrees sideway-up position and close up the gap between the 2 packets. Now, the gap can only be seem from the top, so avoid letting the audience see from your view.
toppass6
Using the left hand, fore, middle, ring and pinky (which is used in between the packets) drag the top packet (b) off from the deck, in an opening manner...
toppass7
...At the same time, right hand flips the bottom packet (a), using middle finger and left hand thumb as pivot. This is also used as a 'cover-up' for packet (b) during the switching.
toppass8
Drop the packet (b) which is held by the fingers, into the palm. At the same time, drop packet (a) on top of it. The time taken for these 3 steps should be done in a blink of an eye.
toppass9
The 'chosen' card will then be transfered to the top of the deck.
